Nilla

Travel is close to back to normal in Christchurch New Zealand after the devastating Earthquake a week ago.

I am amazed at how quickly our Kiwi friends have been able to recover to minimize travel disruptions in Christchurch since last Saturdays huge earthquake.

It is great testimony to th emassive importance New Zealand places on tourism and just how quick they can implement plans to offset these types of disasters.

In some ways now I suppose will be people who will find it interesting to see the aftermath of such an event.

No doubt the Kiwi’s marketers will find a way to use it as a positive.

New Zealand is the most popular destination for Australians travelling overseas and I don’t see that changing.

Tomorrow Nilla will be sharing her views of Egypt which she visited over the last week…I can tell you Nilla is very very excited Egypt as a travel destination.

Until tomorrow…

take good care.

We are so proud of you…Kelly

Most of us know that parents can be bias towards their children…

well it now looks like a bosses can be just as proud!

You have checked out the video haven’t you?

What may not be clear is just how incredible Kelly has been for her clients as a Expert Travel Planner second to none.

10 years ago this month Kelly joined Jetset Albany as a consultant. Little did we realise that Kelly would not only travel the world  to many exciting and rewarding destinations but she would develop into one of Australia’s premium travel planners.

Kelly’s  awards list include Jetset consultant of the year  for 2007,2008,2009,2010. National consultant of the year for Jetset 2008, 2009 and an Avis scholarship finalist 2010.

While the awards say one thing about Kelly what can’t be fully demonstrated in a video is the PASSION and COMMITMENT Kelly’s  clients all feel every-time they seek her input to their travel.

Just last week a client wrote to me a  two page thank you for the way Kelly made her feel about her travel.

Let me share just a small part of that letter: “She has an open, friendly manner and a really lovely personality.  She obviously has a gift for making her clients feel ‘special’.  I felt as though I was her ONLY client and the only person she cared about.”

Nilla and I have very proud and have enjoyed her journey to where she is now…we just wanted to share our joy with you.

Please feel free  to pass on any comments and or contact Kelly on her email kelly@travelwithjetset.com

Thank you for allowing me to share  my excitement and joy.

Cheers John C Spark

You are invited to follow along with Nilla and I as we share our own person travel experience to Peru.

We will share it as it happens…along with many insights that we hope you will find valuable for your own travel.

Some insight will captured on video each day others will be photo’s with a commentary. We promise to share good and bad as it happens.

So please check out my first short 59 second video as we are about to leave our wonderful home here in Albany. We know from past experiences that our home comforts will not always be afforded us as we travel through some very undeveloped countryside in Peru.

What lies ahead is a very long couple of days flying with Qantas and no doubt more than a few delays before we get to experience wonderful places like Machu Picchu.

I am excited and apprehensive…but you will have to wait for tomorrow post to learn more.

So please stick around…I promise it will be interesting, informative and quite probably have some valuable life insights which I just know third world countries always offer travellers. Hence the attraction of such places.

Hello once again…

New Zealand is just such a great country to visit.

And to some people especially the confident freewheeling traveller there is no better way to explore the “Land Of  The Long White Cloud” than in a motor home.

Motor Homes are easy drive and inexpensive.  What most people do not appreciate is that if you hire a category or two larger than you first thought you will be much happy thanks to the extra room and storage area in the larger model.

If you are a couple a 2 berth seems to make sense on first assumption. Caution:Don’t be too taken just by the price. A lot of 2 berth motor homes are not as economical as the larger 4 or 6 berth which in part is false economy.

Secondly the smaller models are not as high off the road limiting your view of the majestic New Zealand countryside. This alone is enough for me to suggest you give serious consideration to upgrading.

Please check out what else you can learn from my short video below…it could be the difference that sets your next trip to New Zealand as your best ever!!!

Now if you have any interest in South America and it is in the top 10 travel destinations then you will want to check back in shortly as Nilla and I reveal details of our trip to Peru commencing this Saturday.

Nilla is on her 4th trip to this wonderful detination and will start sharing some in her words awesome photo’s taken from our 2004 adventure. So be sure to check in each day between now and when we leave.

And remember if you want to be happy…just be it!!! Happy that is.

Cheers

I wish I was on a cruise right now!

It is 7.30 pm. Rain is falling and tomorrow is Easter.

At least I can sleep in tomorrow.

Then I can certainly say it is Good Friday.

Nilla is off helping her friend Janette prepare some yummy deserts for tomorrow.

And here I am in the office preparing for the next week.

But rather than wait for next week here is a cruise tip given to me by my friend Rob who just returned from a Queen Mary 2 cruise from Perth to Hong Kong. Which he highly recommends.

I actually had Nilla video me from the top deck of  MS Volendam while she was in Albany recently so you will notice just a little wind noise.

Enjoy this tip as it will make a difference to you especially if you have an early morning start with a shore excursion…thanks Rob.

And please enjoy a safe and pleasant Easter.

John
